LOL, same.

I don't know how common it is in fictional settings, but there's also the fact that people sometimes confuse my state of Iowa with Idaho and Ohio.

(I also remember a middle school teacher of mine telling our class a story once about how she went on a trip out east for something. And when she'd tell people she was from Iowa, they'd respond with, "Oh. What state is that in?" Yeah.)

My mom came from a town of 500 people in Iowa and we visited there when I was in college. It wasn't a bad place but it wasn't what I was used to. You had to drive nine miles to another town to go to the supermarket (and you probably still do.) But at least I know Iowa's a state.
