There's also loads of fanfic that does try to blend elements of the myths into MCU canon so let's not pretend that Marvel fans are completely/deliberately ignorant of the Norse origins. Some of them have even got *into* Norse mythology through Marvel. And heck even the comics flirt with many elements of the Eddas. But it's never going to be exactly the same as they're not meant to be the exact same characters and I'm fine with it. Loki is Thor's brother in Marvel continuity rather than Odin's blood brother? Doesn't bother me.

(What we have might not even be the original orignals anyway due to the relative lack of written record. I could go on for hours over how much Loki has been getting bad press for c1000 years and might not have been the pure evil figure he's often designated as in other media but that's a whole other rant. He's also not the only mythological figure to be crammed through the lens of modern audience expectations so I try not to stress about it.)

I'm actually glad to hear that some people have gotten into the mythology because of the comics/movies.
