What are some story lines or arcs that you think ended too quickly?

Nick Stokes got kidnapped and buried alive on CSI. He is attacked by and and nearly blown up. But it is hardly ever mentioned again. Like he is reluctant to go into an underground bunker in one episode but that is it. Also, he grew a terrible mustache. So maybe that was the outcome.

That seemed to be a lot of Nick Stokes storylines:
Nick's a sexual assault survivor! Not mentioned again.
Nick's suspected of murdering a one-night stand! Not mentioned again.

Yeah;; I always had such a soft spot for Nick since the show loved to beat up on him.

Haha, right? Though to be fair, that episode was so awful it's best forgotten.

Imagine an elf is given a job to do at a human institution. The humans think elves don’t need bathroom breaks, since they know they can hold it for days, but this elf has been traveling to reach their job, and has already been holding it to the point they are in pain. They ask for a break, but their job is important and time sensitive, so they admit they can still hold it when asked. After a full day of work, the elf tries to reach the bathroom in time, but they were never told where it is.

Yeah they ended that story line way too quickly. We never even found out what happened to the elf.

(I've seen this here before too.)

I think it would have been nice if there had been a payoff to that time on Gossip Girl when Chuck hired a girl/woman to date Dan so as to throw his ex Serena off-kilter, but Serena & Blair put Nair in her shampoo, she shows up in a cafe wearing a scarf on her head because of her missing hair, and Chuck pays her for the job. She's never seen or mentioned again.

The MCU Winter Soldier/Shield is HYDRA subplot. I feel like searching for Bucky and taking down HYDRA could have been a movie unto itself but then Civil War got shoehorned in and HYDRA kind of gets dropped as an issue.

Pretty much everything in Doctor Strange. All the world building and character relationships got squashed into the first 30-45 minutes and now suddenly Strange is this super confident Wizard going toe to toe with Loki and Thanos while apparently forgetting that his former teacher Mordo’s running around the world killing magic practitioners.

Might not count but MCU Uncle Ben’s Death. Skipping over the Spider-Man origin story was definitely the right call but it’s kind of weird how Ben has like...literally never been mentioned by anyone. Like CACW clearly establishes Peter feels guilt and a responsibility to use his powers so why not at least mention the event that established that in the first place?

+1 to the Winter Soldier storyline.

Because this is the third (recent) cinematic version of Spidey and we already got the memo about Ben dying? Like yes it’s a huge motivator but let him go on some other adventures and meet some other people. Plus the scale of things has gotten so huge, the kid hasn’t had time to be reflective on his dead relatives, what with getting recruited into the Avengers, fighting Thanos, getting stuck in the Soul Stone or whatever.

I'm not saying they had to redo Ben's death or have Peter's entire existence as a superhero revolve around his guilt over Ben's death. I'm saying just mention him.

It doesn't have to be some big thing. I'd be perfectly happy with a throwaway line about how things are different without him or seeing a picture of him in the background. And before IW he had a whole movie to himself that specifically focused on his daily life and how he had to balance his obligations to school, family and superheroics, they couldn't spare thirty seconds to name one of Peter's biggest inspirations? Like when he's locked in the weapons warehouse and talking with Karen about his life, maybe she brings it up and Peter immediately shuts her down, something like that.

I dunno. I like MCU Peter, but IMO in order for Uncle Ben's death to be his motivator you need to at least establish Uncle Ben existed. If they could fit in a token mention of Peter getting his powers from a Spider bite, I don't see why they couldn't fit in a token mention of Peter's biggest father figure prior to Tony.

I think the Doctor Strange movie is supposed to have taken place earlier in the MCU chronology than when it came out (relative to the other movies) and that the movie also covers a decent time span, both for his initial physical recovery and search for a treatment, and then for his time at Magic School. So, the Strange of Infinity War is a much more experienced wizard than the one at the end of his solo movie because time has passed.

I dunno about looking for Mordo. Let's just say he and Wong were doing that when they decided to take a sandwich break and then Bruce dropped in.

Early on there’s a shot of an award in Strange’s cabinet with the date “2016”, which means that the film at best takes place over the course of a year (assuming the film starts at the beginning of January 2016). So Strange is able to recover from basically having his hands destroyed to the point where he has basic motor functions (not to the point of being able to do surgery but at least to the point where he can grasp and hold objects) THEN become skilled enough in magic that he can successfully use a fucking Infinity Stone against an all powerful magical being in its very own home dimension...in the span of less than a year.

And yeah he may have more training by the time Ragnarok and Infinity War but again, at best he’s still only got about two years of training. But somehow he’s able to survive one on one combat against Thanos (who at this point in the movie has 4 of the 6 Infinity gems).

I guess it just pisses me off because the parts where Stephen was training and learning magic were my favorite parts of Dr Strange and the movies just kind of blew through this great opportunity for worldbuilding and character development so they could get uber magic Stephen with flashy powers that look good in fight scenes.

I've been on an SVU bender and several things were just...dropped:

-Olivia's drinking (especially since her mom was an alcoholic!)
-the threats to Barba's life
-whatever it was that Fin showed to Dodds

Playing Mass Effect again:

I feel like the implications of the Citadel being the hellmouth for Reapers was introduced via side quests and codex entries but never really explored beyond scanning the creepy bug things that no one wants scanned and Vigil telling you it's a honeypot.

I also wouldn't mind more Andromeda, maybe when EA stops shoving Frostbite into almost every project.
