Also, I realize this is a vastly unpopular opinion on this shithole community where moralizing is the end-all-be-all of existence, but I feel certain that people who preach the loudest about problematic stuff are sinning the hardest behind closed doors. And no, I don't have proof other than 40+ years of experience with humankind's hypocrisy.

Maybe they've changed? And even if not, let them hang themselves. If they do things that the fandom doesn't like, then it's likely the fandom will rise up against them.

I mean, that's what antis believe. They believe people who write noncon fic or whatever are sincerely dangerous. Or at least that's what they claim to believe, I personally think only the dumbest and most easily-led fall for that, the rest are just in it for the thrill of bullying and feeling like a good moral person at someone else's expense - which is a hell of a drug. So if someone has that kind of background, surely their followers deserve to be warned....

(This is all 1000% self-serving "anti" bullshit, of course, but if the OP really did want some petty revenge, this would be a way to do it that would be karmically justified.)

That's the only kind of change I respect in this situation. I don't support bullying even bullies for their past creative work, because that reinforces the notion that creative work is something that merits bullying and I think that's utterly wrong. But if turnabout happens to one of these assholes I'm sure not gonna cry about it.

The thing is, I don't really give shit what other people ship, or like in their porn. Hell, I'm a big fan of noncon ships myself. It's just... their hypocrisy was really off the charts. Like, even at the time they were shipping the aforementioned "bad" ship, they were being rude and dismissive to shippers of other, similarly problematic ships. They even harassed a couple people out of the fandom, or so I've heard?

And when they finally figured that hey! bashing problematic shippers when your ship is also problematic looks off as all hell and dropped the ship (which, let's be real, is a bigger reason why I would never do this), they tried to make it look like it was all those other shippers of their former favorite ship who were at fault. It was them who were the ones who romanticized, nay, denied the abuse in canon, it was them who tried to lead our anti, the paragon of virtue, astray. Yes, our anti friend may have been tempted, and in their moments of weakness, succumbed, but eventually they cast off the bonds of temptation and rape apologism, and stepped into the light of Pure and Righteous shipping.

Which, nevermind the fact that nobody in their right mind would say that the ship as portrayed in canon wasn't abusive (although a few people out of it certainly tried), our anti buddy certainly made their fair share of fanworks containing all the good dirtybadwrong porn tropes like mindbreak, choking, etc., etc. The most charitable read of their version of the narrative is that they honestly didn't know that that shit would have been abusive in real life until then, which is. Not a good look. To put it mildly.

So yeah guess I'm still bitter about this.

I still think it's hilarious that halfhardtorock, notorious explicit underage writer in Supernatural and Teen Wolf (and not just underage but heavily focused on porn of their child bodies) has now turned into an anti. Of all people!

And I'd STILL be like, let her write whatever the fuck she wants, and if people find her creepy and avoid her fic, fine. The anti shtick is more worrying to me because, like many aggressive antis, she's trying to reassure kids that she's safe, it's those OTHER bad writers who are dangerous and don't worry honey, she'll protect you. It feels very disingenuous and manipulative.
