Sort of OP (it’s my comment but someone else did the hard work)—yeah, that sounds about right. I rarely reread the first couple Discworld books and tend to like the middle to late ones best—barring the last couple, because it was upsetting to realize why the quality was getting iffy. The book that really got me into the series was Small Gods, and I generally enjoy the more heavy-hitting ones.
