Rebecca is one of my favorite books. Of course they are going to mess it up. It will stick with the Hitchcock version. AH did an INCREDIBLE job.

Have you seen any of the TV adaptations? There was a BBC one in 1979 starring Jeremy Brett and anon in 1997 with Charles Dance.

In contrast to the version in this thread, I found Charles Dance too old (he was 50-ish). The actress playing the narrator was good in the part, though. I didn't know there was a version with Jerermy Brett! I'll have to see if I can find that.
