Beauty and the Beast stories, though I do have limits—namely, that the Beast can’t be a hot dude with one or two cosmetic scars and maybe a couple tattoos or piercings. The Beast (or the Phantom of the Opera or the wicked sorcerer or whoever’s filling those trope shoes has to have something going on where the average reaction to seeing them ranges from “holy shit” to “oh god it’s gonna kill me.” Also just being a hot jerk who gets called beastly for being a massive asshole is right out.
