Characters leaving their doors open (car, house) without a care in the world. It throws me right out of the story.

Heeee! Wow, yes, who does that. I hate when, in a show or movie, the parent sends the kids off to school after they had 2 bites of breakfast (what?) and they don't brush their teeth. And nobody washes their hands before they start cooking. Yick.

Anon from first comment here:.when I saw the first Scream movie, the whole time Drew Barrymore was getting the threatening phone calls, all I could think about was the popcorn on the stove. I was terrified it was going to catch fire. Which of course it did.
