Re: LGBT question

I am not an activist or on social media much but I feel like being a lesbian is a big part of my life, it’s something I think about and enjoy talking about in LGBT spaces. I’ve never had the option of not telling people - kids were calling me a lesbian and a dyke at age 11, and I was always teased for not being girly, not liking boys, as I got older for not dating or wanting to - basically I have always felt different from the mainstream ideas about gender presentation and romantic stuff, and so when I realized I was a lesbian it was very comforting, in a way. It being a big part of my life isn’t really an active choice - It just is. And it doesn’t help when people around you make a big deal about it.

For reference I live in Texas - not a super conservative area but I clearly still did witness a lot of casual homophobia growing up.
