I make it a point to do everything I can when I work.
My job almost allows me to know the maximum I can do- since I work a lot with machines, I'll count the seconds between each motion, in order to evaluate a number I should be processing each hour. Aside from that, most of my work deals with precision, which I've always had a knack for.

If you can, try to measure your workload yourself at first. Depending on your job, there should be general timelines that you need to work/finish within. So long as you work within these standards, you won't be horrible at your job.
If you don't have that kind of measure, try asking your workmates for their general status quo. And if you're really worried, straight up ask your boss if there's anything extra/else they want you to do.

Make it a point that you care about doing a good job, and more often than not, you'll do just that.
