I FAR prefer the 80's designs, but I grew up on 80's style cartoons, so they trigger a feeling of comfort and nostalgia in me where the 2018 redesigns leave me cold. In 30 years when they reboot it again, people who are children now will probably say the same things about the 10's designs in comparison to the 2048 reimaginings.

Yeah, the "objectively, the new one is way better and the old one was so generic" crowd is going be fun to watch when all their faves get rebooted.

It's objectively better to have characters of differing looks where hair color and clothing isn't the only way to distinguish characters from each other.
