Re: What's up with readers of literary fiction scoff at SFF novels?

SFF has been a literary "ghetto" the same way comics and animation have been "ghettos" in media generally. People will assume it's all for kids, or is rapidly churned-out pulp for easy consumption, or doesn't deal with serious topics, or whatever. Obviously those things are not always true, but it's a stereotype/prejudice and not the result of people being objective and rational and conducting their own surveys of different genres.
