I'm watching my way through Friends for the first time right now, and yeah, their romantic relationship is my least favorite part of the show. I'm in S6 right now, and I'm mainly just relieved that there's such a long stretch of time where they're not even remotely together.

Their relationship really brings out the worst in Rachel, which always bums me out because I usually quite like Rachel. And then there's Ross. Oh, Ross, why are you just constantly the worst? I'm not saying the show would be better without Ross; he is an integral part of the show. But I'm honestly not sure I've ever liked a character less, and it pains me to think of Rachel ending up with him.

So yeah, OP, I will happily subscribe to your "They break up like two months later" headcanon.

I like Ross, in all his pathetic glory, but Rachel is probably the least suitable girlfriend he could get.
