(Anonymous) 2018-11-24 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)There were way too many subplots. Leta's story was interesting but unnecessary except as an oh-so-clever red herring just so we could have the BIG REVEAL at the end. Which is a dubious reveal.
My biggest complaint is that I thought we were finally, finally going to get some moral ambiguity, but no, it was the same old good versus evil bullshit with a half-assed (and failed) attempt to make the evil look slicker.
I did enjoy Jude Law's Dumbledore very much, and the mirror scene was beautiful and heartbreaking (and unmistakably gay IMO).
But for the first time in my HP fan life, I have zero interest in the next installment and doubt I'll even buy this one on DVD.
