I've never had a tattoo, but I thought this was common knowledge.

But then there's a lot of things I think are common knowledge that fic writers get wrong ...

(NO, spn fandom, if you walk up to an ER bleeding from a bullet wound, they won't kick you out if you don't have insurance. Not in the US. They can only kick you out once you're treated and stable, hence why people with NO INSURANCE and no money go to the ER for ridiculous things - they have to be treated, and if they don't have money, the hospital just has to foot the bill.)
