Yes, yes he is. I haven't watched the show in years, but Gibbs irritated me MORE than Tony - he's arrogant in a completely different way, and unlike Tony, never gets punished for it.

(Tony is sexist, but he also got schooled for his sexism, esp by Kate. Gibbs? ALWAYS FUCKING RIGHT.)

I definitely hated Tony the most, but I wasn't a fan of Gibbs either. Honestly I just didn't really like the cast at all so it was a hard-pass for me when my bf tried to get me into it.

(I liked Ziva and Abby and that was it).

I also liked Ziva and Abby the most. I ended up stopping watching when Siva left.

OP: I liked Gibbs at first, but I definitely really started having issues with him as the seasons went on. And I had hopes for Tony maturing, as it seemed he was going that way when he was temporary team leader when Gibbs was gone (and I actually started to kinda like him then), but then he regressed and I went back to being annoyed by him.

For me the only ones I liked were Abby and Ducky. And Kate when she was still around. I actually mostly gave up the show within a couple seasons of Kate leaving.

Same, only I gave up on the show right when Kate died, because I had mainly watched for her, Abby, Ducky and Gerald (Ducky's original assistant before he got injured and replaced with that really annoying guy whose name I've thankfully forgotten). It didn't help that Kate/Abby was my OTP.

I just did a rewatch till mid season two and I'd forgotten how much I liked Gerald.

I hated Tony so much it kept me from getting into the show. I literally couldn't watch any scene he was in he made me cringe so hard.

I can't even watch the actor's new series, Bull. I can't see past Tony, and the actor's whole demeanor seems arrogant, no matter what role he's in.

Ah~!
I guess I'll be the exception, since I saw a few interviews with Michael Weatherly before I was really able to judge Tony as a character;; He always seemed like a good guy to me, (and maybe because my sister had an undying hatred for the guy) I always gave Tony /or rather his actor;;/ the benefit of the doubt;;

Especially since he started the new series right after leaving NCIS, it's hard to see his role as a completely new character- (and i am normally so bad with this type of thing myself;;) but, ugh~, Bull is an amazing show~!

//// I realize I might have gotten a little too excited;; ////

see, i had watched the show because i loved him on dark angel and it's hard for me to rewatch that now with the same love for logan i had back then, not because of tony necessarily but because of some of the interviews i'd read/watched featuring michael.

also, i've been rewatching the series and logan is honestly kind of a dick.

I thought Gibbs just did that to everyone...?
I noticed it was a little more strange with women mostly because things got pretty hot and heavy from time to time;; (i always saw gibbs as some ugly old man when i was younger, so watching him score always shocked me to no end;;)

Tony, yeah- but with him he has his father to blame, at least with his problem with commitment. Like his father regularly dates/marries/breaks up with a new woman every month, all of them younger than Tony...
It's not a good excuse, but at least he's given a reason. Gibbs just has a dead wife and kid, which isn't even a factor with how he treats people from what I can remember.

the only thing the dead wife ever did was make him super protective of women in general, but specifically red heads. And it was supposed to be okay when he patronized his boss because she both was his ex and reminded him of his dead wife.

...well lets just say my opinion of Gibbs, somehow, got even worse;;
