Except... they didn't kill Zack off to replace him with Sweets?

I love both of them and I do think the show would be... poorer for the lack of a better word w/o Sweets but I don't think it had to be an either or situation.

Also, I will forever hate what they did to Zack because it was just terrible from start to finish, it made no sense, it was dealt with abruptly and then they revealed he never actually killed anyone and that was just ignored and... Yeah, hating it forever.

It wasn't ignored, though.

From Wikipedia: "A major storyline in season 12 is exonerating Zach. In the penultimate episode "A Day in the Life," Zach is exonerated of murder thanks to Hodgins with help from Brennan and Caroline Julian at his hearing. However, the judge rules that he must finish out the last thirteen months on his sentence for the separate crime of aiding a known killer and Zach remains institutionalized, albeit with a release date just over a year away."

No. I believe it ended a year or two ago.

ayrt

The series finale, the ultimate episode, aired on March 28, 2017. The penultimate (the one before the last) episode of both the season and the series is the one where they dealt with it, so presumably Zach would get released a little over a year after the finale.

Huh. That's so lame. He should never have been in that situation in the first place. Bleh.

THIS. I hated what they did to Zach, it was so incredibly stupid and out of character.
