I'm a non-fan and don't follow, but from the peripheral I assume blonde lady and John Snow are going to get together and have babies and co-rule or something. I thought that was pretty obvious from the like... five episodes of season 1 that I saw. Isn't that what's happening?

Probably. And its not just babies, it's incest babies!

Pfff, no, there's entire seasons of her plotline dedicated to showing how she's a terrible ruler and a cruel hypocrite, and she still hasn't learned from her earlier mistakes. She's got the blood and the ambition, but not the wisdom or mercy. (Which, presumably, is where Jon comes in to balance out her flaws.)

I'm stanning for Lyanna Mormont for the throne.

Still all for the ice zombies+ice zombie dragon killing everyone and deep freezing the stupid throne, to be honest.

I usually hate everyone dies endings, but I think I'd be okay with it for GOT.

the later

really?

LOLwut. She's incompetent to hilarious degree (look how spectacularly she fucked up in Essos and even in her invasion of Westeros), prideful, hypocritical and has been increasingly shown not to listen to her advisors. Her go to answer for everything is violence. She has to be talked out of burning people alive, and even then her advisors don't always manage it.

She talks a good game because she believes in the righteousness of her actions and has charisma in spades to inspire people's devotion, but when you actually look at the things she does... yeah, no. She's not a good ruler. She's not even a mediocre one. There isn't really one single very good candidate for king or queen of Westeros, but of all the contenders on the field, Dany is the worst after Cersei.

I know it's highly unlikely, but for me, the best ending for Westeros would be breaking up into individual kingdoms again, with each one being represented in a ruling council that oversees the relationships, trade, etc. between the kingdoms. No more Iron Throne, no single monarch for the whole continent.

Psst, the word is "latter".

(Anonymous) 2018-12-04 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree anon! She does make some dumb choices but I still believe her to be the best suited for the position.

I'm with you, OP. There's a been a lot of Dany hate because she killed Dickon who wouldn't bend the knee and she should have just sent him home with a telling off so he could raise another army against her or something. Not using her dragons at all would have let more of her soldiers die which seems wrong, but people say it's "unfair" to use the dragons. Whatever.

She could have taken him prisoner and used that to negotiate for the release of her allies. She could have given him a swift and merciful death via decapitation. There were other ways she could have handled that that didn't involve burning him alive, which is one of the most painful, horrible ways to die. She chose the way of fear to cow people into kneeling to her. Very effective for a conqueror, but it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence that she'll somehow be the good, just and merciful ruler Westeros desperately needs.
