Speaking of this movie, I still wish Saoirse Ronan was the one playing Elizabeth. Seeing her all dressed in the costume, at first I thought she was Elizabeth.

Sorry, Cate Blanchett. You're never going to come close to Glenda Jackson's definitive take on Elizabeth I of England.

I'm just interested in seeing an Elizabeth that's not at her best anymore (hair falling out, face scarred, etc.). Even the Cate Blanchett movies glamorized this portion of her life to hell and back. But Mary had the same issues and we'll not see them in this, I'm sure. (When the headsman went to lift her head after her execution, Mary's head fell loose and rolled away because she was wearing a wig and no one knew it).

Okay, that's really interesting. With the cast of this movie, there is no way they are going for anything other than two perfectly gorgeous women rivals. I don't really have high hopes.

Several of the commercials show Elizabeth with her face heavily painted and I spotted at least one split-second shot of her with spots on her face and there's a scene where she removes her wig in front of Mary and shows her balding scalp. So we'll see ugly!Elisabeth but I'm sure only beautiful!Mary.

Well if nothing new is ever going to enter the public domain again and since Cate is too old for this role, you're going to have to start giving other actresses a chance.
