I don't really care about the Lucas/Max relationship, but I ship Mike/Eleven hard, and I am 100% okay with that. After S1 I felt a little conflicted about shipping them, because they were so young, and the show could just as easily have had their romantic feelings for each other turn out to be fleeting and quickly put behind them. But after S2 came out, I felt pretty validated that canon shipped them too. S2 shows that they really, genuinely care about each other. Their feelings were more substantial than just coming-of-age curiosity. The attachment they'd formed was lasting.

However, no, I don't want to read or write explicit fanfic about them. Yikes, no thank you.

And if the show wants to have them decide to just be friends in S3, I'll still probably respect that. I mean, I think they love each other, but first love doesn't necessarily mean forever love, especially for people who find their first love so young.
