I feel like Holdo should have told him that there WAS a plan, but she was in the right to say 'you don't need or deserve to know what my plan is right now'. Like, she could have prevented some mutiny-ing, potentially, by saying 'yo I got this covered', but Poe's NOT in her circle of trust and rightly so.

I felt like it was handled really well-- it didn't feel to me like 'this character is right about everything vs this character is wrong forever', it felt like Poe, Holdo, and Leia are three people at different points along this journey. Poe doesn't have the experience, insight, and patience that these women have, he has just enough experience with wins to give him this overconfidence that leads to a downfall, and like... that's not BAD, that's something I hope teaches him a valuable lesson not only about what his limits are, but about listening to those who have that experience even when he thinks he can do more. It makes him a more dynamic character to have this arc and to have lessons he needs to learn in order to be a better hero/person. I really hope the next film continues to explore the impact this has on him and how he can grow in the wake of it.

I like this take. Very insightful!
