I love TFA, but hard agree that TLJ took the characters to a new and fascinating level. I love shades of grey in my archetypal space operas!

TLJ took the characters to a new and fascinating level.

Yeah, TLJ made me wish that this trilogy was actually going to be a five part series, so that the characters and arcs would have more time to build on what TLJ started.

Whereas I liked TFA, but it didn't make me want more, more, more the same way TLJ did.

Me too - I feel like just one more feature length movie isn't going to be enough to explore all the richness; I worry about nuance being lost through rushing to wrap up the larger plot threads. Mind you, TLJ did a good job expressing a lot of character development in relatively concise scenes (mainly the Force Skype ones) so I should have faith.
