On the other hand, that package... (although he may be packing).

I feel the same way, frankly I find all visual media after ROTS to ANH very boring. Rogue One, Rebels, and this is probably not going to be to my taste either.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding or reading this wrong, but you've liked all of the Star Wars movies so far?

Re: ?

(Anonymous) 2018-12-07 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
So did I (except I haven't seen Solo yet). It's not impossible (or probably even that rare).

ayrt

If you say so. There have been ten live-action movies in the franchise with many different directors and a few different writers. And I've watched franchises with fewer movies and I can't think of one longer than a trilogy that I've liked all of the movies in. I think the more movies that get made in a franchise, the more likely it is that fewer people will like them all. Given how many Original Trilogy fans were unhappy with the Prequel Trilogy movies, how some people who watched newer ones before watching the OT found the OT old and clunky, how many people didn't watch Solo, how people have argued over The Last Jedi and Rogue One, it seemed like a reasonable assumption for me to make.

I did. Even like the Clone Wars animated movie.

But did you like...

The Star Wars Holiday Special?

Doesn't count as Lucas himself has said it is not canon.

Did you enjoy the Mandalore arcs on The Clone Wars? I thought TCW introduced some interesting ideas and characters that could possibly be expanded on in The Mandalorian.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Eh. I thought they were well done, but I'm just not interested.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Same. I'm sick of all the Mandalorian stuff. None of it's been interesting.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-07 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree. The Fetts aren't Mandalorians, but I am sick of both. Most of the proposed live action ideas sound so uninspired and boring (except for Obi-Wan). At least the EU is providing really interesting stuff.

Hate away, OP. This looks awesome. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Me and a few others here are gonna be looking forward to this show.

Heh, if this is popular enough, there just might be a Fett movie.

The Fett movie was cancelled because they are making this show.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm aware of that it was cancelled, but I wouldn't rule out popularity changing that decision. Profits, after all.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
I'm looking forward to it. I love Mandalorian armor, so I'll at least enjoy looking at this show, even if it's dumb. But I like Jon Favreau, he does good work. I think it'll be good.

I got into the Karen Traviss clone troopers books and fell in love with the entire culture/concept so I'll be here for the TV series. Granted, the clones were the ones that made the book series for me, not the culture which I felt just added to the world building but if the TV series can give me good characters with that kind of culture (Maori) built around them I'll be there for it.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, Karen Traviss. I could have liked her stuff, if she hadn't been all "Mandalorians are superior to everyone else" and then actually demonized everyone else in her writing. Her ideas were interesting, but her dislike of non-Mandalorians made it difficult for her to fit her stuff into the actual Star Wars universe.
