No, but I don't really think I should have to rely on white Hollywood to give me something other then the "Black Ghetto" you describe. I have to wait until hell freezes over for black people to stop painting black people as only one or two kinds of people? I'll take a few shaky shitty bad black sci-fi to get me to one good one. How many shitty white sci-fi shows are out there plenty. Sorry if I ask for more then to have blacks only presented in shitty comedies and a few minor "dramas."

Personally I'd prefer not to see all black anything or all white anything but that seems to be the only way US tv knows how. I like to think we do it a bit differently in Europe. Maybe not better but different.

Well said. I think I am drawn to Sci-fi for that very reason. It's always been more integrated then normal shows. Not everyone in my life is white or black, I don't want my TV to be either. I just hate the way black entertainment usually portrays, well, blacks.

I don't know how I missed commenting on your secret before but work was crazy today. I think your secret is AWESOME. AWESOME. Besides, given the face that CoC are portrayed on so many "white" shows in ways that make it hard to write them without cringing or changing their characterisation, the people bringing us stuff like Heroes and all need to be schooled how to do it.

I think she means "ghetto" in the older sense, as in them all being relegated to one channel, one audience. Sci-Fi shows are already in sort of a ghetto, though.

Why, exactly, would a SciFi show that featured black actors be a "ghetto"? Personally, I'm pretty tired of always seeing white people in sci-fi and fantasy, and no one ever accuses a sci-fi show that features ONLY white actors of somehow ghetto-izing whites ...

Funny, because that's excatly how so much US TV, particularly SF and comedy comes over to the non-US viewer. So much so our TV reviews tend to comment on how much of a white/black ghetto they are.

I think they mean "ghetto" as in SciFi (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ScifiGhetto) or animated (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AnimationAgeGhetto); as in, the genre's not taken seriously and looked down upon by "real" show business people.
