132. There was a great post recently made on the TWoP SGA board outlining why SGA was such a poor series, with which I heartily agree. I've never understood how it gathered such a huge fandom.
152. Oh, dear God, no. I'll join you in your loathing. I used to think my dislike of her was an irrational carry-over from seeing her play Lara in "Dr. Zhivago" (I can't stand stories that ask you to sympathize with adultery), but the more movies I see her in, the more I realize, no, it's just her and her stilted acting that I can't stomach.
174. This makes me happy I started watching the show this summer and therefore have avoided years of inexplicable fandom hate trends. I love Anders -- he's just a decent, upstanding guy. Why he (and Helo, who is similar in character) are so disliked will remain a mystery to me.

(I contend that they're disliked because you can't fap to them like you can with their wives, and BSG is catered to sci-fi fanboys. Grrr, fandom.)

I see a lot of women doing it, too, (well, I read the Television without Pity boards, and I think they're mostly women there). The Helo hate is especially worth a headscratch from me because he gets called sanctimonious all the time and, like, I JUST DON'T SEE IT. Where is the sanctimony?! Oh, you mean in that one episode in season 3 where he was right and no one believed him and then they did and apologized? That time? The Chief had his "I'm right and no one believes me and then they do and apologize" episode just two episodes later, and no one's rolling their eyes at him. What gives, yo? (Not that I want them to -- I like both characters and both episodes.)
Anders doesn't even have that problem -- he's just straight-up good, and he still gets flak. I guess anyone paired with Starbuck is going to be disliked, though, huh? Oh, fandom.
