109. Heh, love the Scrubs quote, and agree entirely. I'm so glad I'm not in the (friggen crazy) Heroes fandom, but I see this in Who!fandom and all as well, and it's terrifying. I mean, I can't stand Martha, but I think Freema's a fantastic person.
111. As a Christian, I don't think that movie being a comedy invalidates it at all. I fully believe that God has a sense of humour, and I absolutely believe that nothing shows truth so well as humour does. And I love Morgan Freeman's version.

114. I don't get off on it, but I like fic where she gets humiliated by being really really WRONG and having to actually acknowledge it. But I rather thing it's a different sort of humiliation we're talking about...
119. Well, that picture's gone and reminded me of how much that man's face absolutely terrifies me. Seriously, it's just upsetting.
I seem to recall an Ursula Vernon pic from years back where the deal was that every single person in the world had some kind of super special talent. Unfortunately, these were along the lines of "If you play this tune on a jade flute on this particular day, little mushroom critters will dance for you" so most people don't wind up discovering them.
122. I'm the opposite. When it looked like they were going to get together before her wedding, I threw a tiny fit (still haven't seen the last season). I think it's just a horrible idea for both of them. They're friends. But they keep yo-yoing back and forth like something out of Strangers in Paradise, and honestly, I just don't believe it works for them. Frieeeeeends...
(but they probably will so everyone can be paired off nice and neat. Lame.)
125. Nah. Heck, I started pursuing my career path because of a Sailor Moon episode and a Sonic the Hedgehog fanartist.

144. I tracked down the issue of Batman he wrote (or one of them), and highl reccommend it. "When is a Door" about the Riddler. He perfectly balances classic Riddler/Gorshim Riddler/new Batman, I think. Or rather, less of the new Batman, more of the Riddler commenting on how things have changed. Love it.
145. Illedgible secret is illegible, but I have a friend who jokingly uses "Would you like to see my mask" as a pick up line.

As someone who just doesn't really care about anime these days, Cowboy Beebop goes right next to (or possibly even before) Firefly in my "If you don't like this show, I don't understand you, and we will probably have trouble communicating" list. I haven't even seen all of it, and I still think that it's just one of the best shows. Fun characters, gorgeous animation, brilliant music...I love it.

And that has to be my favorite Scarecrow line, but a close second "Not my diagnosis." and "The Bat-Man." in third.

I totally didn't get the Scrubs reference. Then again I've only seen several episodes, but that was one I did watch.

And honestly, Beebop isn't my favouritist favourite show, but if someone thinks it sucks, odds are that our tastes are so drastically different that it would be tricky finding common ground to chat from. Even if we found something we both liked, it would be for completely different, and often opposite reasons ("I love that character!" "Oh. I can't stand 'em. Liked the other one though." sort of thing).
Sometimes you're just on usch different wavelengths that actual communication beyond smalltalk is tricky.

(Anonymous) 2008-08-28 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)I have friends who hate some of the things I'm practically obsessed with. As long as they don't demean me for liking whatever it is, I have no problem with them not liking it. We simply find other interests, it's not all that hard.
I do apologize for being slightly rude earlier, though.
