I hate the term 'fell pregnant'. It's just weird to me and I hear it everywhere for some reason.

Yes but he isn't going to get pregnant. The onus is on the woman to take proper precautions. And some women do 'get pregnant on purpose' telling some guy they're on the pill when they're not, screwing random guy because they just want a baby without caring about how it will impact their live or a child's life. It's not usually said about someone who's carefully planned for a pregnancy more someone who was reckless.
