Hart apologized FOUR YEARS ago for those comments. He refused to apologize again, because, paraphrasing, if you can't accept people change and get over it, he's got no time for you.

I cannot believe how many people are posting here and have no idea about that.

he still uses the same kinds of jokes in his stand up! at least people defending gunn have a leg to stand on

WHAT!?!? A comedian has offensive jokes??? I am shocked and outraged! My God! What kind of world do we live in? Won't someone think of the children and muh christian family values?

Just because something is called a joke doesn't make it funny and doesn't make it okay. I personally don't think that if you make a racist/homophobic/sexist comment, you can be called out on it, even if you claim it was a joke.

nyart

I legit saw a few Imgur-users seriously claim a joke didn't have to be funny. Thankfully people called them out on it, but that line of thinking still baffles me.

Yep.

The christian family values types and the gays. Just hand-in-hand.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-12 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Since when is being against homophobia a Christian family value?

I can't believe people are still using the tired old "comedians are exempt from basic decency" defense in this day and age. If a comedian is so shitty at their job they can't come up with any good jokes unless they're being offensive, then they don't deserve any paying gigs.

Where did he apologize? I've seen people claim he did so, but somehow they can't provide a citation.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-12 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
can you actually link those apologies? thanks!

(Anonymous) 2018-12-12 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, if he’s still using stuff like this in this routine, kinda hard to believe he’s changed.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-12 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
He did not apologize. He said he probably wouldn't repeat the jokes in 2015 because people had become too "sensitive".

No, I don't think he did apologize for his homophobic remarks. Instead, he implied that people were "too sensitive" for pointing out that his homophobia was shitty.

He only gave non-apologies. Sooooo...
