OP
I legitimately like Willow and Queenie, and don't like how people are calling them rapists when rape is a special kind of evil and it's clear Rowling and Whedon weren't trying to make them that dark. Not to mention we're supposed to root for both Willow/Tara and Queenie/Jacob, and doing that with a rapist and their victim is pretty gross.

Whedon made it pretty clear that what Willow did to Tara was 1)rape and 2)a definitive step across the good vs. evil line that marked the beginning of her temporary fall to the dark side. Physically altering someone's mental state in order to make them have sex with you is rape. What's gross is pretending that it's anti-semitism to acknowledge that raping someone is rape.

No, rape is not a "special kind of evil." For a lot of people, rape is part of a spectrum of relationship abuse that would include love potions and magical memory wipes if those things were actually possible. Of course, pop culture is filled with all of these examples of undermining consent, so we often end up "rooting for" relationship dynamics that are screwed up when you think about them.
