In the original game, definitely. Not in the spin-offs, and the official Compilation guidebook said the opposite.

The entire point, tho, is that Sephiroth has become the new Jenova. The OG even outright states that Jenova's pieces will converge on the main part of it, and the fact that the rest of the body goes to Sephiroth.....
