Are you on vacation or getting ready to go? Bracing yourself for Christmas? Having a boring day at work?

I spent most of today trying not to cry over my ex getting back with their ex, the one that they said they were "just friends" with but were actually in love with throughout our relationship. Am hoping I can find plenty of things to take my mind off it tonight.

That's awful. I'm so sorry.

Got a lot of stuff done but also have ended up with a migraine so eh. Did finally get around to posting a fic and a batch of icons I've had hanging around so that made me feel better in myself.

Today was my last day of work until January 2nd. But found out my work is changing how vacation works next year. Instead of just taking off the time you need to, you can only take it off in 2-hour, 4-hour, 8-hour blocks. :/

That sounds a ridiculous and b stressful. Best of luck with it.

I had to be on hold with Hot Topic because they cancelled my order that I placed on the 12th, citing that they didn't have my size.

They had it when I placed the order......and they still had it today but the representative said they didn't.

Ordering from them is always a huge debacle.

I have accomplished fuckall. I'm going on vacation in a couple days and it just feels like everyone is just running down the clock until the end of the year

I just came back from a christmas party with my coworkers and our bosses and predictably, I hated every single minute of it. Hated the food too. Will be awfully tired tomorrow morning from the overtime all week and the late hour at which the party ended. (Past midnight, almost 1AM in this timezone at the moment.)
Lesson learned: free food is absolutely not worth it when you hate the company. Will consider getting labelled as antisocial shit next year by refusing to go.

Got a bill for labwork that a doctor submitted outside of my fucking network in January, and since they waited over 11 months to bill me, I can't put it on my fucking FSA.

2 hours of sleep last night. My coffee has worn out. My shoulder/neck is still pretty sore. I've had heat on it as much as I can.

My dad is home now, which is nice. I'm waiting because someone is bringing us soup for dinner. As soon as she's left and I've fed the cat, I'm probably going to crash.

But I wrote a really good brief at work, so I feel good about that. I'm actually impressed that I managed to write something that good with so little sleep.

I did one of those foot peels a few days ago, and after I got out of the shower today, as I was walking back through my bedroom I was like "???? what the fuck did i step on why is walking weird"

Turns out I was stepping on my barely-hanging-on dead skin! My god, I've never had so much fun. I ran gleefully back to sit on the edge of my tub and pulled off every little bit I could. It was disgusting! There was so much! I couldn't stop giggling.

And now my feet are sooooooo soft, omg. I can't stop petting them. I can't believe how well that worked.

Omfg I LOVE THOSE FOOT PEELS!!!! They're so, so, so gross and so, so, so satisfying! And they make your feet soft and callus-free! But beware, your feet will be really sensitive, not sore or anything but you will suddenly be very aware of how cold the floor is, or if you go outside barefoot at all, how rough concrete is, and anything you step on (like a pebble or a twig), you will feel it (because no more protective thick calluses)! I'm going to do one myself after the holidays. Can't wait!

I have noticed the sensitivity! It's not bothersome, just a bit surprising, haha. I keep rubbing my feet all over my sheets. It feels so nice, ahhhhh

What foot peel did you use? Uh, asking for a friend with horrible thick heel skin...

kind of a mixed bag. there was an open house Xmas party in my apt bldg today which was good but I kind of got my conversation monopolized by this one neighbor lady I didn't really know which was not a pleasant experience because she was one of the stupidest people I've ever talked to plus she smelled bad and insisted on standing really close to me. I was too polite to tell her either of these things. good food though.
also, I'm worried about my roomie who seems to be really sick.

Winter break started today and I’m gonna go to my friend’s house tonight. We’re gonna watch Banana Fish and be sad.

I am having an incredibly boring day at work but I don't want to go home either because I will have to face what I did to the kitchen. (I followed a recipe that said to simmer something uncovered and it splattered all over the place, plus I left a bunch of dirty dishes. Not sure I'm actually going to deal with it tonight, though I should be ashamed to say that.

Today's my last day off until Christmas, or possibly Christmas Eve, I don't know as I haven't seen the schedule for next week yet. Four days isn't too bad usually, but this week we lost two people in my department and we'll be busy af trying to pick up the slack.

Not great unfortunately.

I went to take my sweater off at work earlier, and my finger got caught on the hem of the sleeve and it ripped half the nail off and blood went everywhere. Freaked out my coworker who's afraid of blood, and hurt way more than I would've expected.

Also, I was in a car accident awhile ago and from time to time my back hurts pretty bad from it. I left my physical therapy appointment and was feeling really good, but then there was horrible traffic because of an accident and I had to sit in the car for almost an hour and now it's back to hurting again.

Buuut after tomorrow I'll have 11 days off work, so that's exciting. I've gotta finish up a few projects before the end of the year so tomorrow is going to be pretty busy, but I'm really looking forward to the time off.

I'm watching Designated Survivor on Netflix and fighting "You are ugly" thoughts.

Well, yesterday, while on my way to an optometrist appointment of all things, my eye was watering a bit and I wiped the tear with my gloved hand. My glove caught my contact and pulled it out of alignment. I was expecting it to shift back into place, but it didn't and I had to make the rest of the drive with one good eye. After parking, I looked in the mirror to see what was up but the contact was gone! There was no sign of it stuck to my glove or anything. I had brought a case and solution so I could change to glasses for the appointment, so I took out the remaining lens.

I went to the appointment, the to the grocery store and home, all the while feeling like there was something in my eye. I figured I had just scratched my eyeball a bit. I woke up the next morning with my eye hurting, but it quickly went away. Again, I felt like something was in my eye off and on all day. It wasn't until this evening that I pulled back my eyelid a bit and realized the side of my eye under my eyelid was really red and irritated. I couldn't have scratched that area, so something had to have gotten under my eyelid to do that. THE CONTACT WAS STILL IN MY EYE SOMEWHERE UNDER MY EYELID! I remembered that when this happens, you should look down while massaging your eyelid, so I did that and almost immediately the contact worked it's way down to where I could get it out. Whew!

The annoying thing is, the reason I went to the optometrist was because I had realized I was on my last pair of monthly contacts and needed to get new ones. The one in my eye had gotten folded and creased up in there and is now unbearable. The new ones won't come in until around the end of the month and I didn't ask if I could gave a trial pair. So, no contacts for me for the rest of the month! I hope it's not too sunny. I no longer have a functional pair of prescription sunglasses.

I HOPE MY CONTACT HAD A FUN ADVENTURE UP IN THERE.
