Your favorite Christmas candy/baked goods!

I don't mean regular stuff you eat on the holidays, but actual seasonal candy and baked goods.

Have to go classic. Candy canes. Love them. Also those peppermint chewy candies.

Not a fan of dark chocolate, but chocolate and orange is such a great combo. Chocolate and citrus in general really.

I go wild for Ghirardelli's peppermint bark squares. They're so good!

Same here! I got a huge bag of them from my coworker today and I couldn’t be happier.

Idk how common this is but every year my mom makes what she calls haystacks - they’re just little bonbons made of shredded coconut, melted bakers chocolate and sweetened condensed milk - they’re so simple but so good, and it’s my favorite family tradition.

My neighbor used to send me divinity fudge. I loved it, but not enough to try making it myself.

I like those candied orange peels dipped in dark chocolate but they're a pita to make. :(

I can't usually find dark chocolate cherry cordials any time but Christmas time, and I really love those. Pretty much any of those boozy chocolates, too, like those dark chocolates filled with brandy that Trader Joe's has.

Butter tarts made with my great grandmother's recipe. The main thing is that they have a tablespoon of vinegar in them. It doesn't make them taste like vinegar, it just makes them a little tangy and a lot less sweet. I can't stand butter tarts without vinegar in them. To me they just taste like you're eating sugar.

I don't usually eat peppermint candies but around the holidays I get nostalgic for those Brach peppermint nougats:

And maybe the soft peppermint puff candies you find at Dollar Stores. You can melt them into your hot chocolate!

Wassail!! ...for given value of baked goods. I have to bake the apple and the orange, so that counts, right??

Right.

I know panettone is really an Easter thing, but it mostly shows up in the US at Christmas. Also mozartkugeln (which I want to try to make at some point but I’ve nearly destroyed a le creuset pan making sesame halvah so I’m scared of making two batches of marzipan.). And I love fudge, but about half the time mine turns out more like frosting unless I use that cheat where you mix melted chocolate with sweetened condensed milk and baking soda, and the texture’s just never quite right.

Christmas is the only time of year I buy those lindt chocolate truffle things, violet mints, chocolate dipped marzipan, and chocolate oranges, which make up a good third of my typical stocking stuffers.

Lindor truffles are probably my favorite type of chocolate. What flavors do you like best? And have you tried all the fancy flavors they only sell in the Lindt stores? (or maybe they do sell all the fancy flavors in grocery stores in other countries, I don't actually know. But in Canada we can only get about five or six flavors in grocery stores.)
