I'm so sorry you are going through all that, OP. I'm glad you have found inspiration and comfort in her. She's great, and the Doctor has always been a character that has that effect on me. I hope things in your life get better soon and that the Doctor continues to comfort you. Nothing crazy about finding hope whereever you can find it. The Doctor is a very good representation of hope.

Not crazy at all :). I think a lot of us have been there at some point. That's one of the great things about fiction, right? This sounds like a sweet, very comforting method-I can totally see her being the kind of character you would want to turn to for reassurance and support, and I'm glad you're finding that here.

I'm so sorry you're going through so much stress lately, and I'm very sorry to hear about your dog as well. I hope he's doing better now, or will be soon, and I hope things in general start looking up for you as soon as possible, too. Take care. *Hugs*

Sorry to see you're not having a great time but it's nothing to be ashamed of finding comfort in things we enjoy, like fictional characters. I doubt you'll ever be the only one ever who does this. You do whatever helps and The Doctor is a pretty good example of a character who inspires hope!

This is a sweet secret, OP.

I think both Jodie Whittaker and Chris Chibnall would love to hear that.

You are definitely not the only one who does this! She's just such a wonderful character, one of the best Doctors ever imo, and it's so comforting to think of her reassuring me and helping me out of whatever tight spot I'm in. It gives me confidence!

Nice secret, thank you.

You guys are so sweet and I wish I could hug each and every one of you. :') My dog's doing a lot better. He's still a little out of it because of the meds he got at the vet's office, but he tried eating on of my slippers today and that's a sure sign he's on the mend (he loves chewing on soft, furry things).

Feel Better!

I'm glad your dog is doing better.
Maybe it's a sign that your luck's finally turning around!

That's so good to hear! I'm sending him good vibes :)
I think this and the secret below yours show why fandom is so important, how fiction gives us hope.

There are a lot worse things you could be using as a coping mechanism, so I'm glad you've found a good one that works for you! Also glad to hear your dog is doing better *hugs*

I imagine the Doctor herself would feel honoured.
