I'm so sorry you are going through all that, OP. I'm glad you have found inspiration and comfort in her. She's great, and the Doctor has always been a character that has that effect on me. I hope things in your life get better soon and that the Doctor continues to comfort you. Nothing crazy about finding hope whereever you can find it. The Doctor is a very good representation of hope.

Don't feel bad, OP. I did the same thing (used podcasts to keep my company) after I moved to a new country and my partner subsequently became seriously ill for a year.

Being able to listen to a bunch of people chatting like pals makes you feel a part of something. It's an important thing, imo.

I've only seen Nanette, and it was a total gut punch. But like you said, it's supposed to be that way as a deconstruction/reconstruction of the stand-up medium. It made me feel a lot of complicated things. It also made me question what I, as a comedy audience member, am asking from the performer and whether or not it's fair.

I'm sure Homecoming King is funny, but it's not a competition. I imagine that Minhaj had different motivations for his show than Gadsby did.

Honestly, I could never get into this show because everyone seemed unlikable. I watched the first season and then gave up. Just, everyone on this show is terrible.
