I enjoy them both on the show, but 100% they'd be terrible in real life and I'd hate to work with either of them.

Though Jim isn't really a dick to anyone except Dwight, and Dwight is a dick to everyone. I think the show wants us to see Jim as "getting back" at Dwight.

Jim's obviously a dick to Dwight, and the show justifies that (or attempts to) by the idea that he's just getting back at Dwight.

But there's also a lot of times where he just really seems like kind of a supercillious ass towards the rest of the people in the office. And his relationships, at times, play into the whole "nice guy" idea.
