It's been a long while since I watched Supernatural, but it has literal angels (Cas is Castiel) and demons, along with werewolves, ghosts of every stripe, leviathans, wendigos, witches, seers, djinns, poltergeists, curses, etc. Someone (or something) influencing someone else from the womb doesn't seem far-fetched in that world.

Oh, Cas could apparently tell Jack would be "good" before he was born, and there was some sort of communication shown from the pre-birth nephilim to Castiel.

It would have been a lot creepier if Jack hadn't actually turned out to be good, but he is. It was like -- Cas wanted to protect Jack even though he was half-Lucifer's kid, and it was unclear if he was actually an um...evil...fetus sending out lie-vibes.

I do think that Cas and Kelly (Jack's mom) did have a friendship develop while he was protecting her and Jack. We just weren't shown all of that.
