It's at least partially that I don't celebrate Christmas, but I'm not a big fan of this movie.

I think it's because I'm very much not into the whole man-child thing.

I honestly have no idea why I like this movie. I usually hate saccharine holiday movies. Holiday movies in general really. But this one is actually funny and fun to watch.

Hrmm.
Not many examples of that, are there.

Thanks!

I've never seen this movie but I feel like I hate it. Maybe hate is a strong word, but I've seen like, trailers/clips and it just makes me cringe so much with secondhand embarrassment.

i turned to a channel the movie was on right at a scene where he's eating a bunch of sugary stuff on top of spaghetti noodles and was like "nope, not for me". gross food stuff makes me want to puke.

i'm not sure anyone could make yellow tights look all that good.

Reading this secret makes me want to see a version with Rebel Wilson.

I really don't like Will Ferrell, so I only saw this movie for the first time this year (I know. *I know*) And it really... wasn't that bad. Cute little movie, but definitely don't understand how Buddy acted like a child so much when he was clearly capable of being an adult and was surrounded by other elves who acted like adults, even while retaining happiness and cheer about Christmas.

....though if you'd given me Bob Newhart running around gleefully in a revolving door, I'd have other things to say.

This just makes me wish there even were male examples of the "Born Sexy Yesterday" trope. I can't seem to think of any.

Vision in the Avengers, Kyle from Kyle XY, maybe the Curious Case of Benjamin Button fits here, Rocky from the Rocky Horror Show

there's probably more but I can't think of any atm

I haven't seen it myself, but I've heard George of the Jungle (the movie, with Brendan Fraser) is an example.

I've also seen Thor listed as a borderline example because he fits it pretty well in the first movie only.

George of the Jungle is actually pretty example. I really need to rewatch that movie.
