Looking for fun, don't-have-to-think-much movies to take my mind off some stupid bullshit. Any and all ideas will be much appreciated, thanks!

Second Legally Blonde. I mean, I hate that sort of stereotype that Elle is. And the law in the movie is crap. And yet, the movie is still so much fun.

Mr Right (there's murder but it's funny murder?)

I love Mr. Right. As a fan of Grosse Point Blank I actually liked Mr. Right a little more because they are both so fucked up that it works a little more.

Man, Better Off Dead was an entertaining enough movie, but was it supposed to be as confusing as it was? I feel like I didn't actually see half the stuff I saw, it felt like watching a fever dream.

ayrt

Yes, yes, it was. I think John Cusack almost balked at the dancing stop-motion clay-mation food (you can actually see similarities here with the Press Your Luck Whammy, which Savage Steve Holland, the writer and director of Better Off Dead also animated).

If you don't mind some questionable content: Cannibal! The Musical. Gory, but sooo fucking funny.

If you're feeling the cheesy goodness of the 90s: Hackers. Quotable, entertaining, aged like SHIT. "Check it out, guys, this is insanely great: it's got a 28.8 BPS modem!!"

If you want other people to rip apart the movie for you: episodes of MST3k. Highly recommend "The Touch of Satan", "The Final Sacrifice", "Space Mutiny", or "Pumaman".

If you want just some straight up uncomplicated feel-good: Heavyweights, Cool Runnings, The Goonies. All of these have some good laughs, some light peril, and emotionally satisfying endings, and I always turn to them when I'm feeling shitty.

If you're willing to give tv a try, Galavant. 18 episodes total, so not too much. But really hilarious. A send up of fantasies, musicals, and a whole lot of general tropes as well. Amazing show that will have you laughing within a few minutes.

Just got back from seeing Aquaman and that is one big, dumb, fun movie! It's full of shiny things!
