(Anonymous) 2018-12-28 04:30 am (UTC)(link)Yes, yes, it was. I think John Cusack almost balked at the dancing stop-motion clay-mation food (you can actually see similarities here with the Press Your Luck Whammy, which Savage Steve Holland, the writer and director of Better Off Dead also animated).

(Anonymous) 2018-12-28 03:26 am (UTC)(link)If you're feeling the cheesy goodness of the 90s: Hackers. Quotable, entertaining, aged like SHIT. "Check it out, guys, this is insanely great: it's got a 28.8 BPS modem!!"
If you want other people to rip apart the movie for you: episodes of MST3k. Highly recommend "The Touch of Satan", "The Final Sacrifice", "Space Mutiny", or "Pumaman".
If you want just some straight up uncomplicated feel-good: Heavyweights, Cool Runnings, The Goonies. All of these have some good laughs, some light peril, and emotionally satisfying endings, and I always turn to them when I'm feeling shitty.
