What, upon rewatch, did you realize was not as good as you remember?

The Harry Potter movies (the books too actually.) LOTR movies have lost some of their shine. I still love them for what they are. But I see more and more flaws every time I rewatch.

about 90% of the movies and TV shows I loved when I was a kid. :(

Veronica Mars. I still think it's a good show, but I remembered it as being really, really good, and when I rewatched it recently, it was a little cringey in some ways.

The main thing was that I remembered it as having an extremely strong season-long plot arc. Like, I remember being so impressed by the awesome slow build of the S1 mystery. But when I watched again recently, I was shocked to discover that S1 is actually really episodic. I mean, like, the first 3/4 of the season are mainly just Mystery Of The Week with maybe one or two scenes inserted to remind us that there is a bigger mystery going on.

Also, the whole thing just has an incredibly strong "early 00's" vibe, which I think is about the worst thing for a show right now, because it's too recent to provoke nostalgia, but just dated enough to feel clunky/out of touch.

The Indiana Jones movies, but specifically Temple of Doom. As a kid I remember it being fun if somewhat gory, but holy shit it's just racism on racism on racism on racism, isn't it?

Yeaaaaaah.

It actually does a lot of things that I like but it's almost impossible to overlook how insanely racist it is

Yup. Like, it hits so many tropes that I'm really into now in terms of aesthetic and the whole religion of evil and such. But the racism just makes watching it really uncomfortable. And the sexism doesn't much help either.
