Curious trivia that I just found out: The Killers are named after the fake band in the New Order video "Crystal." The Killers would do their own homage/rip-off of that video with "Somebody Told Me." Both of which are better tracks than "Mr. Brightside." But at least it's not Wonderfuckingwall or that dreadful song about the abortion that pop radio played to death before "Mr. Brightside."

I suspect that when "Brightside" gets hailed as "the generation's 'Stairway to Heaven'" they really don't quite mean, "an excessively over-played trifle that's not the band's best, very white, and derivative of prior work, oh yeah, and created by people who were older than the song's aggressively triangulated marketing cohort."
