OP

I definitely meant exactly what I said unfortunately. I don't remember what movie it was but the guy was in the toilet trying to be quiet because he was at the date's house and yeah. PFFFFFTTSHHHHHFFFFFWOOOOOT. Plop.

I made this secret that isn't even a secret after a frustrating night of finding nothing to watch because I wanted romance and I could only find very stupid romantic comedies or very depressing romantic dramas.

Nothing says romance like a good wet shart, obviously.

I was confused by your not!secret too, but I actually completely agree with you. I love a good romance. Honestly, my heart is the heart of a person who devours romance novels. But when I actually try watching romantic movies or reading romantic books, the vast majority of the time it just seems incredibly dumb and really not romantic.

Fortunately for me, fanfic featuring my OTP is like the magic key to my heart. However, outside of fanfic, I can probably count the number of romantic films I enjoy on one hand. :(

..really?
I've never seen a movie where this happened that was in the romance genre. Maaaaybe a rom-com, but i don't much like those, and if that's the level of 'com' in it, it's not to my taste.

I'd like a romance that's damn practical and sensible and where everybody involved isn't a damn neurotic mess. You can still have passion and romance without drama-llama!!

There are a number of modern rom-coms that do fit that genre. The American Pie movies, Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Zack And Miri Make A Porno are a few examples.

I can't stand gross-out comedies so I avoid them all like the plague. It's very easy to spot that kind of humour in the trailers and I will never understand why some people find them so hilarious.

HA, yes. *None* of those movies appeal, at all. I don't get that humor, either - never have.
