I think the difference is how much earlier kids are watching AND how much more variety there is in content. My two-and-a-half year old baby cousins were bored to tears by Spongebob and various Disney movies, and captivated by Paw Patrol and pretty every modern TV show on Nick and CN.

I was a little surprised because my youngest, now double digits adored Spongebob and Teletubbies and god help us, Caillou and most Disney movies... But these two just wanted the slicker styled stuff. And they've been propped up in front of TVs since....birth, sigh.
