I can totally get that! It's a very lived in, warm animation style, especially with settings. Those kind of scratchy lines from that era of Disney animation is incredibly charming.

I see your point, but one of the things I liked was that she wasn't forced to be a perfect character with only her weight as a narrative flaw in order to be sympathetic. She has her own prejudices, she's not impervious to jealousy at the idea of her best friend actually being into the competition and making other friends (and IIRC she's called out for that) and she expresses a lot of insecurity and yes, meanness to others. She's not a paragon of tolerance and understanding just because she's fat.

Their dynamic plus the teams has always been this weird line where I don't ship it but I love seeing them as the parents of the team together
