I'm worried about what's going to happen to Jayme now. Her parents are dead and she's too young to just take care of herself. When was the last time you ever heard of anyone adopting a 13 year old?

She has other family.

oh, I didn't hear that.

She has an aunt that she's close to and who seems to be taking care of her right now, so hopefully she can continue to rely on family.

My friend's mom fostered children and adopted one after he stayed with them for several years. He came to them when he was 13 and she adopted him at 16.

You don't hear about it, but it happens.

Yeah, my friend is fostering a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old right now. There are plenty of people who want older kids instead of younger ones.
