Already tired of all the people claiming that someone must be one of those awful SJWs if they even consider it to be a bit of misstep to have your protagonist's major defining betrayal moment be an Obviously Evil woman falsely accusing him of rape. I watched the first ep not knowing about the controversy and found that part a bit side-eye worthy, read a bit of the manga to see if it got any better, and then dropped it when it turned out that it's just another one of those grimdark series that assume rape and slavery automatically makes it dark and gritty while never actually delving into those themes in any meaningful way. It's dark and edgy for people who assume that coating your story in a haze of black automatically makes it dark and edgy. The fanboys jumping up to yell about all the special snowflakes that just can't handle the realness just make the series look worse. Sadly it's just generic isekai but with slavery bc that's a thing now apparently.
