This sounds like a lot of work for little payment.

Looking something up on Wikipedia is "a lot of work"?

Comments like this worry me. I almost hope you're just being snarky and rude, because the idea that someone in this day and age believes that Googling is a lot of work is depressing as hell. Haven't you ever been curious about... well, anything? And then realized how cool it is that you can probably find out in less than a minute?

Maybe I'm showing my age but it does seem like a lot of people take technology and the internet for granted. I fucking love that I can look shit up within seconds. I do it all the time, for everything. No idea what a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog looks like? BAM, Google can show me. Curious about when Chinese New Year is? It's February 5th. What time is that new bbq place closing? 10pm, but they're open until 11pm on Saturdays.

Jesus, how can that be too much work?

Enjoyment = payment. Same reason anyone does anything for entertainment or out of curiosity, without the likelihood of more tangible benefits.
