I still hate it years on and was mega disappointed that it was getting a remake. Saw a teenage girl reading the omnibus version of it at the bus stop late last year and actually cringed internally. I get that I'm not really the target audience despite being a female (My favorite manga back when Fruits Basket was crazy popular in English was Initial D lol) but it's so boring and the main character is a seriously unlikable doormat who can't even stand up for her dead Mum she claims to love so much.

This is funny to me. Initial D and Fruits Basket were my two big anime joys back in the day. To this day, those two are still the only ones I've rewatched. I don't think liking one means that you won't like the other.
