116. Rot in hell, bitch. Obama's gonna win by a landslide.

...wtf? There must be something I'm missing because just the declaration that someone wants to vote for Hillary even though she's not on the ticket doesn't seem to warrant a "rot in hell, bitch". what is the implication of that picture?

(I love Hillary and wish she had won--the Clinton years were my late 20s and early 30s and life was good, I wanted that back! They proved they could fix things! But I'm voting for Obama because I don't want McCain!)

(Anonymous) 2008-09-03 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
116. I wouldn't vote for Hillary no matter how much you paid me.

I personally think they all suck :/

I can agree with this. :(

(Anonymous) 2008-09-03 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Too bad. It's all you've got.

[identity profile] biocaam.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd vote for Obama, if I was old enough. :/ Hilary just struck me as too melodramatic.

(Anonymous) 2008-09-03 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm proudly voting for Obama.

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. :/ I'm not looking forward to the next four years, no matter who wins.

[identity profile] anibunny.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
I agree so hard. :/

[identity profile] evil-laugher.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't want the person to "rot in hell", but it's a moronic secret. She likes what Hillary said in a speech that tells you to vote for Obama, so... she won't vote for Obama?

[identity profile] anibunny.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
You're icon is effing adorable.

Just felt the need to say that.

(Anonymous) 2008-09-04 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not the OP (and I'll probably vote for Obama, if he doesn't fuck up and invite more ex-gays to sing at his rallies), but some people felt Hilary was "presidential" during that speech, and that she would make a better president, regardless of what Hilary herself says. That's the lovely thing about democracy, you know. That people don't have to follow in lockstep what the politicians say.

[identity profile] evil-laugher.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Except you should actually care about the issues that the candidate stands for, and not how good their speech is, and vote for the candidate you like who actually might make it, and not throw it away on someone who isn't running. If you actually really like Hillary, a lot of that is based on her platform, and Obama's is practically identical to hers. I wouldn't say wasting your vote because you don't understand how important the process is is "lovely". I'd say it's moronic.

Not OP

(Anonymous) 2008-09-04 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
It's not particularly moronic. There are a lot of reasons to prefer one over the other aside from the speech. (For instance, Hilary has a better stance on LGBT issues, but Obama has a better grasp of issues involving poverty) Also, I hate this "throwing your vote away" rhetoric. I live in a coastal state that's going to go to Obama anyway. If I felt like registering my disapproval by voting for a different person, that's not going to make Obama lose the election.

I wasn't planning on voting for Hilary, but this discussion is ridiculous.

Re: Not OP

[identity profile] evil-laugher.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure about any guarantee of a state going for Obama. There hasn't bee a black major candidate in the election before, and it's hard to say.

If you honestly don't give a shit which major candidate wins, then okay, vote for whoever you want. But if it matters to you who wins, then yeah, it IS throwing your vote away. Yes. Yes, it is. It's even worse when it's not just a vote for a third-party candidate, someone who'll gather enough of a total to show displeasure with the main candidates, but actually writing in someone who isn't running, solely based on "how presidential they seemed" in a speech, when there's a main candidate who is almost identical in platform, and who that person wants you to support. If you actually care about who becomes president, that is moronic and an embarassment. I also think it's ridiculous, ~but that's just my opinion~

I would say Hillz and Obama are very, very similarily politically, so much so that the war vote had to be focused on so much during the primaries. They have MUCH more in common than they do with McCain, which is kind of important. The person who sent in the secret doesn't really seem like they're basing their write-in vote on the oh-so subtle differences between the two. Just my guess.

If you do decide to write her in on your ballot, it would probably help you to know that there are two Ls in her name...

(Anonymous) 2008-09-03 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
You can fuck right off.

(Anonymous) 2008-09-03 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow. Whatever issues you've got, I'm sure glad I don't.

[identity profile] grazie.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone is out of touch with reality. Obama's current lead in the polls is not that much.

(Anonymous) 2008-09-03 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
The point isn't who's going to win.

I think the point is voting for the right candidate?

You know, that doesn't always mean the "Winner".

How did it feel the past two elections when the Right rubbed your face in Bush's victory? You're a twat.

[identity profile] xanya.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, good luck with that. There's still a chance he won't even win. You'd be surprised how racist some people still are - and how stupid (I know, I know, it's the same thing).

[identity profile] evil-laugher.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if it seems like a given fact he's going to win right now, I really don't trust it. What was the name again of that one guy who everyone said they'd vote for governor, but he lost?

(Anonymous) 2008-09-04 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Where is your proof that Obama is going to win by a landslide? Most polls show him within three points of McCain... and the range of the standard deviation on polls tends to be ±4 or 5 points. So, barring ultra liberal states such as California, and ultra conservative states such as Idaho, right now they're pretty evenly matched.

It's going to be a close election this year. Sorry to disappoint you.

Also, where do you get off telling someone to rot in hell because they're voting for who they want to be President, even if currently it appears that their pick has a snowball's chance in Hell of winning?
