Their relationship is one of the driving forces of the show and it's an angsty 'once friends now enemies' thing so I totally get it pinging fandom's buttons if you're into that.

It works for me because it's exactly the kind of hero/villain ship dynamic I like where it is messy and complicated, but I've also got a few other ships on this show because it's pretty good for ship-fodder in general tbh. Lots of fun relationships to mull over.
