Still powering through Law & Order:SVU and man, it never stops making me uncomfortable when the 'team' decides someone has done something, and they kind of tell the story to each other as if that's how it really happened, and then they go yell in someone's face to *force* them to say 'yes, i did it!'

Very creepy and abusive, even if they do manage to find the actual guilty person most of the time.

I know right?

Part of the reason it makes me angry so often.

The show seems to think "because the perps are extra bad , we are justified in doing whatever we want"

Yup. Early-season SVU was also *horrifying* when it came to transgender victims/witnesses/etc., and not too great about gay/lesbian ones.

The Munch/Fin 'old married couple' vibe is good, though.

Oh my God yes. The one with Cheryl, the trans woman. It was appalling and Stabler was transphobic the whole way through.

It made me so mad.

So a guy goes and kills himself bc he finds out his gif is trans. How does that mean she "killed" him. Wtf

He killed himself? I thought he attacked her when he found out she was trans and she killed him in self defense? Or maybe I'm thinking of a different episode.

I think that was another guy in the same ep. There was a line from Stabler "that (slur)killed two people!"

Right? It's incredibly gross and ugly. They haven't done a 'trans person' ep in a while, so maybe they're better now, but...gah.

Maybe but after that fiasco I still wouldnt trust them.

They had been better, but there was an ep in the current season (just like 2 or 3 eps back) that they rightfully got shit for. There was a teenage trans girl that was killed, Olivia made some comment like "she's not really a girl" and all the main characters referred to her as "he", it was fucked up.

Fuck me, really? They managed to at least get the pronouns right way back in season nine or something, wth?

Gah.
